  • Thank you for all this great information about choosing a bookkeeping service! One thing that really stuck out to me is that you say to find out if the bookkeeper will improve the efficiency of the company. I know that I would love to be able to turn a lot of stuff over to them in the future.

    • Thanks Frank. We believe that it is not just about ‘doing the books’…a bookkeeper should be an integral part of the team, adding significant value and helping to provide the business with a competitive advantage. If we aren’t doing that, we aren’t doing our job. 🙂

  • Thank you for the 12 questions to ask when choosing a bookkeeper. I definitely like the idea to ask about the tools the bookkeeper uses to help maximize efficiency and profitability. I also think you always need to ask about security and how safe your records will be in the bookkeeper’s care.

  • Hi there, thanks for the great tips by the way. However, I do have a question that I think you could answer for me.
I was wondering what is the best bookkeeping software for a small company?
If you could give me some insight I would greatly appreciate it!

    • Hi Verena. We prefer Xero, but it is not suitable for all businesses. For those small businesses that have very basic bookkeeping needs we recommend Wave, however, be aware that the level of customer services with Wave is very poor (you get what you pay for, I guess!)
