The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers recently completed their 2019 annual bookkeeping survey. A key focus of the survey is to determine average charge-out rates by bookkeepers around the country.
The survey reported a distinct upward trend in average charge-out rates for bookkeeping services over the last five years. In 2018 most bookkeepers were charging between $51 and $60 per hour for routine bookkeeping services. All Sorted’s rates for routine bookkeeping services are at the lower end of this range.
In 2018 most bookkeepers were charging between $101 and $150 per hour for high-end bookkeeping / troubleshooting and consulting services. Rates for high-end/consulting services for All Sorted clients are once again at the lower end of this range.
The survey found that most BAS/Agents continue to charge the same rate for BAS services as they do for routine bookkeeping. The average rate for BAS services in 2019 was in the $60-$70 range. All Sorted charge clients our normal bookkeeping rate for bookkeeping and BAS services.
